Synterra Group is a group of communication service providers, uniting such companies as Synterra, PeterStar, Global Teleport, Synterra Ural and a number of regional communication service providers that have been working at the telecommunication market since 1992. Synterra is a member of PromSvyazCapital Group. The companies of the Group are licensed for providing local telephone services in 22 regions of the Russian Federation, long-distance and international telephone services, data communication services, telematic communication services and communication links all around the Russian Federation.

The infrastructure of Synterra Group is available in all regions of the Russian Federation. The main ground long-distance network covers 70 regions, stretching for about 70,5 thousand kilometers. Over 40 access points of satellite communication main lines have been brought into use in 13 regions.

The companies of the Group provide communication services in more than 30,000 locations with the technical facilities for communication services existing in all population centers of the Russian Federation (including remote and hardly accessible locations with the help of VSAT technology).

The staff of the companies of the Group numbers about 2,000 people. The offices of the Group are located in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Murmansk, Kaliningrad, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Volgodonsk, Rostov, Kazan, Samara, Pskov, Petrozavodsk, Velikiy Novgorod, Vyborg, Tomsk and Voronezh.

Synterra is also working extensively in the sphere of telecommunication services providing to government institutions.

In 2007 alone Synterra was engaged in governmental projects such as the National Priority Education Project for providing Internet access to over 52 thousand educational establishments of the Russian Federation, support of the integrated message processing center of the Direct Line with Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, building the network and providing services for the pilot and reserve areas of the Presidential Library named after B.N. Eltsin, establishment of the telecommunication infrastructure for the state system of new generation passport and visa documents. The Company also participates in the development of telecommunication infrastructure for the Russian Mail.

Major corporate projects implemented in 2007 include the development of corporate network for OGK-6 and OGK-2 generating companies as well as the establishment of telecommunication infrastructure of the unified federal system for control of electricity from the Federal Grid Company to distribution resources for the Federal Network Company UES. Over 400 distribution substations for 200 kW all over Russia were joined through the VSAT technology within the framework of the project.

Among the clients of the Companies of the Group are the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and legislative bodies of RF constituent territories, the Supreme Court and the Accounting Chamber of the Russian Federation, control and accounting bodies of the RF constituent territories, the Federal Treasury and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, etc.
